Logistics Supervisor
The Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor is responsible for all warehouse and logistics functions for the Tilbury facility. Duties include managing department personnel (both salary and union). Maintaining standard work processes and implementing department improvements in warehouse layout, inventory levels and route efficiencies. Position will work closely with other department leads to ensure safety and operational targets are meet. Will lead the creation of action plans and manage efforts to achieve corporate and facility goals for JIT, 5S and APS.
What you’ll do:
Manage department team leaders and union employees.
Establishes roles, responsibilities, and expectations for team members and follows up on performance. Continuously improving capability of team members through coaching, teaching, and appropriate tasking.
Working with team members, develop warehouse layout and material handling routes to support all functions within the facility in the most effective and efficient way.
Maintain standard work instructions and ensure associates are adequately trained and that work is performed safely and efficiently. Ensure any safety incidents are thoroughly investigated with effective correction actions implemented.
Ensure all receiving processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Support with maintaining inventory levels, including cycle counting and inventory validation procedures.
Oversee MRO supplies needed within the department.
Maintain departmental 5S and adherence to APS principles
Ensure communication and feedback flows up, down, and across all levels and shifts/teams as needed.
Monitors daily operations of the unit (work team) and actively assists or provides direction to team members as required utilizing established policies and procedures.
Work with technical support department to ensure operational safety of departmental equipment including rolling stock, racking and docks.
Leads the creation of action plans and manages efforts to achieve corporate and facility goals. Teaches, coaches, and facilitates problem-solving, project management, and application of Autoliv Production System (APS) principles.
Maintains responsibility for human resource related activities, including employee relations, annual performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
Support team leaders with employment issues where job action (such as formal discipline) may result, involving management and/or Human Resources as appropriate.
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent College Diploma
5+ years in an automotive manufacturing/warehouse environment. Direct union supervision. Inventory control knowledge.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
